Modules

Each of the six modules explain different processes of creating and manipulating media. The materials and software used are listed, as well as ordered steps to be followed. At the end of each module, the digital result is shown.

This module offers a step-by-step guide detailing the process of converting still images to a moving media file. The process will be completed through the use of Adobe Photoshop. Three file types will be produced: a .GIF file, an .MP4 file, and a .MOV file. 

This module explains how to use the Epson Perfection V750 scanner to scan a photograph from a newspaper. The instructions detail how to make a scan of the photograph to size, as well as how to make a second scan using a 66 line descreen setting in the Epson Scan 2 software. The instructions then describe the process of saving the scanned file as a Photoshop document in Adobe Photoshop.

This module offers a brief guide explaining how to photograph a color checker and moving images using a DSLR. The correct exposure should be achieved by reading a light meter and appropriately adjusting the aperture and shutter speed.

This module offers a step-by-step guide explaining how to photograph scenes using different apertures and focal lengths. It involves creating a series of photos of a subjects’ face with two different lenses, each photo using a different focal length.

This module offers a brief guide explaining how to take photographs with a DSLR while working with artificial light in a studio setting.

This module details how to record video and audio. It then explains the post-production process of syncing audio and video files together through the use of Adobe Premiere.
